Already up on another nice build to follow !
Is that a new tool or just a good old fashion Eduard's rebox with their new look ? And is it the new dreaded Eduard decals ?

Nice looking kit. Clipped wing build will be different.
Do my eyes deceive me - or have you really got 4 props in the kit??

I often wondered about the quality of details with these spits and I'm very pleased with what I see. This is going to be a great looker at the end.

And assembled, it does take a bit to get it to line up both sides but a couple of strips of tape takes most of the stress away

thanks for the kind words gents.

We have progression and it now looks more Spitfire shaped.

The fuselage goes together ok but needed a little dab here and there with a very thin sprue goo that I have as there were some tiny dents and dings in the joins that were too shallow for putty but the goo flows in ok and polishes up with a Ultimate polisher

    Image

there is a fairly simple internals for the wheel wells, the instructions say it should be "external colour" so that makes life easier when I get to spraying

    Image

The upper wing skins needed a little jiggling and a little sanding on the leading edges but otherwise went together well and then on joining to the fuselage a smear of perfect putty hear and there

    Image

    cheers

    Bit more of an update

    Image

Assembly completed and primed, the light splodge on the wing is because the primer slogged slightly so I had to rub it back and I seem to have been very light on part of the tail probably my hand got in the way..
    Image

    Exhausts and oleos primed

    Image

Prop, undercarriage doors, wheels and side door primed

    Image

Tail band painted ready for masking as it's not a decal as well as the yellow for the front of the wing. I have also sprayed a little silver and will try salt chipping to see how this goes as the Hakata paints are a lacquer base - lives and learns!

    Cheers

Oops I missed a couple of updates - that's coming along really nicely mate, looking forward to seeing it under camo now.

You definitely seem to be enjoying this one more than the ICM one :)

    Warning - large leap ahead!

so, the kit is very nice and builds out of the box really well. and as Garion asked a while back the decals can be..... interesting. The large ones are ok although have a tendency to stick where they touch and need some persuading to move and the stencil type ones are so thin that the slightest move in the wrong direction is a recipe for it to roll especially if you are as hamfisted as I am... The Hakata paint went down well again apart from a green splodge on the front of the cowling which required removing and repainting - I originally did the camo hard edged but decided I didnt like it so then hand sprayed the soft edges back in and it looks better. The chipping didnt work at all well for me and ended up being added to by a silver pencil  I again had something weird happen with the varnish where it did funny things to the grey but not the green but under the matt Alclad it became less visible (not less frustrating) - it doesnt look too bad but thats the last plane for now I'm going back to tanks!! :nena:
