RS Components Design Spark 3D Free CAD Download

Post by NoelSmith »

Hi all, I came across a free to use 3D CAD program that can be downloaded.
There is a large company named RS Components that have developed this software.
It is named Design Spark 3D and there are different versions available, Mechanical that I believe has a Sheet Metal version, plus Electrical and PCB design versions.
As far as I am aware, it enables downloading 3D models produced on other 3D CAD programs, and uploading to other 3D CAD platforms.

If anybody on this site uses it already for their work , I would appreciate some feed back about ease of use, compatibility etc.

RS supply all sorts of components to industry and is a long established company.

Not heard of Tinkercad. What market is it aimed at?

The RS Designspark 3D appears to be aimed more at professional engineering industrial users as a free download, so it should be good by all accounts. Would be interesting to hear if anyone is using it and can comment on here.

Designer Mechanical. I have downloaded it and it looks to be a good 3D CAD program. It is absolutely free to download and use. The program is geared towards people who wish to use 3D printing to make rapid prototypes, so will be of particular interest to model makers.
