Group Build Rules

Post by bfrd »

Get Your Filthy Hands Off My Desert
Rules and Guidelines - PLEASE READ

Subject Choices
You are not limited to any particular subject as long as the subject is depicted as being in the desert. This can be done with just weathering techniques or a full diorama. The key is that it must be CLEAR that your subject is in the desert.
Guidlines
  1. Any kit manufacturer
  2. Any Scale is allowed.
  3. Anyone can join regardless of skill level.
  4. There is no restriction on material or any after-market products.
  5. Scratch building is allowed.
  6. After market decal sets are allowed.
  7. Dioramas are allowed
  8. You can enter as many times as you like.
  9. All kits MUST be in unstarted condition - no exceptions (damaged while in transit sprue parts are allowed).
  10. All entries must have a build thread in this GB forum area for the entry to be valid.
  11. A progressive build thread must be posted - which must include sprue and box shots, regular picture and/or video updates with comments on hints & tips - by sharing your build progress others can learn.
  12. You must provide a minimum of three still photographs (as well as any video) as part of your final reveal.
The forum group builds are centered around the build thread. Your thread should show your modeling journey along with any mistakes and/or pitfalls. It should also contain some history about your subject. A great thread with a good model will beat a spectacular model and mediocre thread every time. Take a look at some of our past GB contests in the archive area to get a feel.
Duration
4 months
Start date: 1st February 2021
Finish date: 31st May 2021 at midnight GMT.
Finish date: 12th Jul 2021 at midnight GMT.
If you have any questions about a subject please post them here and the mods will get you sorted out.

Have Fun and get building!

Yep I reckon all of those would qualify as long as they look suitably "desertized"

I'm building an Italian Macchi C.202 Folgore (Lightning). It served in North Africa and is painted in desert colors.
So, yes grab a plane and build!

    well.....
The Registan Desert, also known as Rigestan Desert, is an extremely arid plateau region located between Helmand and Kandahar provinces in southwestern Afghanistan. It is a sandy desert consisting of small, red sand hills about 50–100 feet high, sand-covered plains, and open rocky and clay-covered areas. Wikipedia

So you are good to go in my books

I would like to extend the GB by six weeks. Are there any objections?
