Unicorn build poses some problems in that I have a number that I could lump into that category how is someone supposed to choose. They would be unicorns for many different reasons such as never having done a resin kit or never having rigged a bi plane or the multitude of decals on a modern era jet. I only have one ship in the stash never built one of those either Pe for one of those would be a nightmare and then there's rigging as well.....aarrrgggg !

Perhaps to enter the unicorn build, you enter between 3 and 5 kits currently in your stash and let the members decide.

I like this idea. Not that it would matter to me - I don't have a stash (I buy to build), therefore no unicorn unfortunately.

I'd really like to see a purely Soviet vehicle GB or Eastern Front GB.

    Guys,

if we keep coming up with more excellent SIG ideas we may overload the site and crash the servers. Its getting to the point where my Shiny Thing and Pick Me Pick Me syndromes are kicking in.

Every time we get a new SIG idea

It's probably a poor reflection on me than anything else, but everytime I read the phrase 'beautfiul hookers' I immediately think about something COMPLETELY different than aeroplanes :shhh:

Can I get some clarification on the proposed Unicorn Build please?

By 'challenge' do we mean a kit that stretches one technically or a kit that is poor and we don't want to build it?

I don't build like building really bad kits, fair play to those who do, but its not my thing.

I saw the Schnellboot at a local hobby shop. The box was big enough to fit a body in it and the guy was selling the deck crew kit for free with it. TBH I'm still not actually sure how I managed not to buy it. It might have been the day I walked out with 2 RFM Tigers (1 with full interior) so my wallet had already run back to the car before I saw it.

I have the itelieri schnellboot in the stash I got it to help me build a R/C one. Buy a GRP Hull and scratch built the rest. Being an S 100 I even built the skullcap from scratch as well. Three geared motors with three rudders powered the beast.

I understood very little of that but it sounds mighty impressive Sir.:
Ok buy a 1/24 GRP hull-

Then scratch build the upperworks and use the italeera 1/35 kit to help in building it and add the power train-

How about a "sows ear to silk purse" build. You know, that old kit with raised panel lines or poor fit that just sits on the bottom of the pile because you can't bring yourself to toss it out.

Lucky I wasn't there two cause one of us would have bought in fear of missing out... :cheers2:
Never seen a fight in a model shop before. Can you imagine it? The shop owner trying to mediate a ceasefire while I'm threatening the stamp on the deck crew set if you don't let me out of the headlock! :bash:

My scratch building skills would lead me to build a bottle of lenor from my bottle of lenor!

        Really not my strong suit.
