Tamiya 1/12 Repsol Honda Rc211 '03

Post by Paul »

So going to build this bike using some of the extras i have for it.

My bike mojo has hit a wall in the past year so hoping this can move me past that

I choose to use Tamiya TS sprays (decanted and through the Ultimate Apex) called out in the instructions even the TS-64 blue as i love the box art to this bike even though it isn't dark enough for the real bike (my kit so my choice )
The TS-56 orange for the bodywork looked a good match to my references, but the TS31 looked way off for the wheels so i added a couple drops to some TS56 to darken it a tad.
Kit decals went down perfectly too
Bodywork was 2k Cleared today and went perfectly.
Engine is nearly ready for assembly with some detail painting required and a wash.
Also bought the Motogp 2000-2009 season reviews for some inspiration :)

That DVD collection should help with the mojo! :thumb2:

Cheers fellas

Some more progress to the 1/12 Tamiya Honda RC211V Repsol

Engine all built up and details picked out, given a wash and decals applied including scale motorsport carbon decal to the clutch cover. Still needs some parts painting then it can be put in the frame.

The frame and swing arm were left chrome and instead I primed in Ultimate black primer and sprayed in Ak extreme Matt aluminium.

The fuel tank and rear section were carbon decaled were they can been seen through the frame.

All built out the box so Far, bar the carbon decals as I just need to keep it simple :)
