So i started of by getting the body kit fitted to the body sorta as a trial fit to see how everything was going to fit together
Glued the body kit on and removed all of the exterior body pieces that were all going to be painted body color and got everything primed in Stynylrez black primer
Then proceeded to start on the assembly of the chassis, this is when i noticed the first issue, one of the supports on the rear chassis had been broken off and wasn't in the bag
So i took some leftover sprue and heated it up and rolled it out until it was a diameter close to what the part was that was broken and made a new part
and here it is all glued together test fitting in the chassis
I noticed then that the chassis itself had a pretty good bend in it as well as the passenger door, so i borrowed my wife's hair dryer and carefully heated up the chassis until i could twist it back until it was straight, and carefully tried to get the bend out of the door, which was quite scary since the material around the door frame is so very thin, I managed to get it pretty close but don't want to push my luck and haven't decided on the course of action yet. the only options that are really open to me are to display the car with the doors open or to glue it shut, guess we will have to decide this when we get to the body assembly stage
So i have painted up the chassis parts and assembled them now using model master semi gloss black for the chassis and Vallejo model air metallic silver with a bit of Model master guards red for the brake calipers :
got out some Model master gold paint and painted the wheels :
And a image of the chassis sitting with the wheels on it :
And that is where we sit right now, going to start work on the interior tub and the engine compartment and also get some Zero Paints Italian Red on the body
Cheers and thanks for watching
