The build is fantastic, but what really strike me is how clean everything
I mean even on your test fits everything looks crisp, sharp and well prepared...no dust, extra stray tools, dog hair, messy paper towels
Really speaks to your attention to detail
My builds look like a dust bin in comparison...something to improve on
Thank you Scott but my bench can be a mess
Mostly on the right side of the bench
Pics get taken on the left
But i did notice i work faster if it is a bit clean
And i find it nicer to work that way
When everything is scattered i start knocking things over and damaging what i am building
The fact that i have 2 120x80 cm workbenches now makes it a whole lot easier too
They are placed in a L shape so everything is within reach .....most of the time
I do have to get up every now and then
Those benches are a bit wide
But that is only when i need paint

Mark, your work is inspirational. This 111 is huge and your attention to detail is......well its all been said, I just wish I could produce a model half as good as you do.

I look forward to seeing the paint go on.

Hi guys
Time to get back to this thread
I noticed today i was falling behind quite a bit as i finished this bomber last night but the thread was still left at the end of the construction

So what happened since last time

Image
20180628_114031 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
I started out with a pre shading
Then the sky blue bottom was painted and masked
Next the lighter green was added and again masked

Image
20180630_014756 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Then the black green was added

Image
20180702_123048 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
A small step back to the light green as i forgot to mask the camo pattern on the canopy parts

Image
20180702_123051 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Image
20180702_123058 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Then the prop blades and spinners where painted in a aluminium color

Image
20180702_213334 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
I then gave them some color

Image
20180702_214525 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
And started chipping them

Image
20180702_214755 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
And i glued the blades in the spinners

Image
20180702_215553 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Then the masking tape fir the camo pattern was removed

Image
20180702_215601 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Not as good as i had hoped but i can work with this

Image
20180718_151902 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
After some touch ups to the paint work i gloss coated the plane with Aqua gloss and left it to dry for about a day
It dries much faster then that but i didn't have time sooner
And then i started with the decals

Image
20180718_202119 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Just about done with the decals
For a plane this big there aren't that many decals on it

Image
20180718_202123 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Some small decals on the prop blades aswell

Image
20180718_202132 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
A look from the rear

Image
20180718_202142 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
And the bottom

Image
20180718_202251 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
I also added some chipping to the rest of the plane
It was before the decals though bit here you can see some of those chipped areas

Image
20180718_202254 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
On the wings and engines

Image
20180724_233020 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
After a second coat of Aqua gloss i started working with washes
On the top is only really shows in the panel lines

Image
20180724_233026 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
On the bottom it shows a big better

Image
20180724_233137 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Using Tamiya smoke i added some exhaust stains

Image
20180724_235817 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
I then gave it a coat of Vallejo matt varnish but it doesn't turn out as matg or flat as i had hoped
There still is some mild sheen on there

Mask removal

20180725_003235 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Mask removal part 2

Image
20180725_003241 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
And part 3

Image
20180725_003341 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
And finally part 4

Image
20180725_005340 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
I then added a antenna wire

Image
20180725_005351 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Painted the light and placed the cover

Image
20180725_005428 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Placed the mg and gunners windshield

Image
20180725_005712 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
And some little lights where added

Image
20180725_005716 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
The nose cap was glued in place

Image
20180725_005928 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Some rust pigments where added to the exhausts

Image
20180725_010034 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
And the propellors where glued on

Image
20180725_010043 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
Image
20180725_010050 by Mark Verploeg - Flickr2BBcode LITE
And i called it finished

More and hopefully better pics will be in the reveal section
Thanks for stopping by and having a look
Take care
Cheers
Mark
