KiwiGavs Pegasus T2 Aerial Hunter Killer 1/32 scale

Post by kiwigav »

Hi ya Sci Fi Squad

To start off I will be building for your enjoyment and mine!!
The Pegasus Aerial HK from T2. Prize from last years Sig

My plans were to build with lights but due to some issues around freight and unforeseen costs at home I will be building without lights but hope to customize the base a little.

Update

Well here is my first update. There wont be many as this beast is going together fast. First thing to note that you should really carefully read instructions and test fit, with this model instructions as they can be a bit vague.

first up was engine pods

Sorry Gav I always miss someone  , very nice choice, coming together slowly don't you hat hate using filler it slows everything down, good luck with the rest of the build :cheers2:

looking good Gav, cool subject matter as well but looks like lots of filling seams on this one so lots of prep work for you, this is going to look awesome once filled and the primer starts going down on it.

Another update at last

Sorry guys been a while but I have got a little on my plate Family wise.
I got the HK primed with AK Black Primer and then put down a couple of coats of AK Xtreme Metal Black base. It is very thin like indian ink, but does produce a nice shiny surface. I think using MR HOBBY Color GX002 GX2 Ueno Black LACQUER PAINT will get a better result, but very happy with AK.

I let that dry for a few days then put down light coats of AK Xtreme Metal Chrome....Arh and no this is not a AK sponsored Build  but a AK experiment of sorts.

To note to get best results don't go heavy or too many coats of chrome, its best to let the black come thru a little as you will get a more "brilliant Shine result"

I managed to achieve a more industrial chrome look rather than a mirror finish. I wanted it this way to look more machine looking if you get my drift.
Also airbrushed some AK Xtreme Metal burnt metal and Exhaust on the engines for a heat tempered look.

The difference with too much chrome over black base coat

It doesn't show in the photos but there is some nice subtle mirror effect

Almost there guys

Hi fellow sci fi squad, I have managed to get a bit done on the base. Originally I wanted to light up this kit and build a custom base based on a screen shot from the movie, but a few family things clashed with this years Summer Scifi, so scaling back was the way to finish.

I have used a combination of tamiya paints with Ultimate washes and chalk pastel to achieve an ash earth effect. The logo in AK xtreme chrome.

Appreciated. I actually took some personal time today I feel so bad for being a poor gardener for this year's event. I have a lot to catch up on this morning, but you guys are what makes it worth it so no fear of me losing hope here!
