Lee's Pegasus 1/350 "The Cosmostrator"

Post by Lee »

This kit has been in my stash for years. And only just getting back to modelling after a looong hiatus this and the Pocher 1/8 Lamborghini should ease me back into it.

No info about this. It's not from a film or anything, just from the minds at Pegasus. Having built a couple of their other kits, I'm expecting small fit issues and a fair bit if sanding and filling.

Box and sprues :th:

So, off and away with it. Managed to get a couple of hours spare today.....

Only three sprues with three lots of mirrored parts and the main fuselage.

Image

Got the fuselage together. quite a bit of sanding was needed, but no filling.

Image

Nacelles all together and much more sanding with some very light filling.

And a little problem with the "light". Doesn't fit into the housing, but nothing a snip and sand can't sort out...

Possibly another update later :th:

That's a neat looking kit for getting back into things Lee - are you planning on a vignette for it at all? :pop:

cool looking little kit, i noted the hollowed out sponge for it to rest on when it was clamped and the glue was drying so thats a neat trick to add to the memory bank, what is the adjustable metal holder thing though that looks interesting?

I always loved the shape of that ship since you showed it Lee! I will be watching this as I do all the rest. So cool, this is so much fun! :pop:

Oh, Hmmm and it is from a film Lee. Its the ship from "First Spaceship On Venus (1960)"
I do love science fiction, its in my blood, but now I dont remember half of it! haha!

Yea, when you put it up in the Guidelines, I keep looking at it saying (I know Ive seen that ship) I think I spent a quite while looking through hundreds of "SpaceShips", "StarShips", etc haha, must of ran dozens of pictures of SW, Trek and Alien and so on, and then found it!I dont think this was a very popular movie, but by itself, it is a very cool ship.

Hey bud, it's a dinner plate holder from Ikea. It opens out and is great for holding all the sprues whilst building. Keeps them all neat and manageable :th:

Got up early to do this - Mojo returned...!!!

Second layer of filling in and pointy bits added. May still need to blend the pointy bits in a bit before paint though...
