While perusing through the Retrokits on UMPS website I came across the Jessica Rabbit figure.

I thought this would be the perfect figure to bring my tracing to 3D. So along with a couple of minions, I got started.

These are my first resin figures. I began by removing Jessica’s arms from the frets with a razor saw and removing the excess resin from the arms. I roughly shaped the elbow using my x-acto knife and Ultimate sanding sticks. I drilled the arms and body so I could insert a wire and pin the arms on.

Not sure if I was going to need it, but I drilled and inserted a wire for the head and neck. I also drilled the bodies and inserted wires for mounting on wooden stands.

I used Tamiya Epoxy Putty to fill in the gaps where the arms joined.

The original Jessica Rabbit is wearing a red dress with purple full sleeve gloves. I decided to go more like my tracing without the gloves. After the putty had dried for 24 hours I sanded and shape her arms. Then I washed the resin figures with water and dish soap and allowed them to dry.

My new Apex Airbrush from Ultimate had arrived so I decided to try it out.

Sprayed Badger White Stynlrez with no problems. This Apex cleans so easy too.

Next was picking out some colors. I went with a green dress to match my tracing.

I sprayed the skin color using Vallejo Model Color Light Flesh 70.928. The flesh color was allowed to dry then I masked it with Tamiya curve and regular masking tape. For the dress, a base coat of Vallejo Model Air Silver 71.063 was sprayed and allowed to dry. Then I sprayed Tamiya Clear Green X-25.

I masked off the face and sprayed the hair with the silver base again, allowed to dry and then sprayed Tamiya Clear Orange X-26.

Now I brush painted Citadel Base Mephiston Red for the lips, Citadel Auric Armour Gold for the earring, Vallejo Gloss White 70.842 with a smidgeon touch of Vallejo Violet Red 70.812 for the whites of the eye, the Clear Green for the Iris, Clear Orange for the eyebrows and Createx Transparent Red Violet with a touch of Silver for the eyeshadow.

I haven’t decided how much farther I am going to go with this. I want to add some highlights and shadows and clean up some stray paint. So, to protect what I have done, I sprayed Alclad II Aqua Gloss Clear
