I thought the p***sy hammer RP Toolz supplied was wanting. So I got this little jewelers hammer which with it's soft end might be kinder to the aluinium punch heads.

Least I can get a grip of it, the other was thumb and fore finger only.

Jeweler's Hammer definitely sounds like a euphemism for something I am not aware of.

For all those 20mm flak kits which never provide enough ammo

Image

Then I opened it and found .... yep still not enough magazines 6 with detail both sides and 2 with detail one side 9 for the ammo boxes ) and 4 half sized. ( not sure if they were very common).....Stingy sods could have at least added another sprue for the size of the box...whinge whinge ;)

Today from eBay...a box full of loose model parts. Seriously loose parts rattling around inside a poorly sealed box
It is an old 1/32 Revell P40E for $19USD and this is what $24USD of shipping gets you

Just got this Friday, during ISM's Live show. A nice 1/32 bell X-1 with the cutting edge decals that was my main interest in this purchase from ebay along with an old 1979 WEDELL-WILLIAMS RACER. I already almost finished an older Bell X-1 (I built the early version with Chuck Yeagers face on the Revell box from 1988), but lost the decals and some strut pieces just before I wanted to paint the fuselage many years ago. Like we all do, I put that one on hold hoping to find the decals again and/or maybe the 2 lost strut pieces.

So this Edge Decal will be perfect if not so much better and is the main reason for buying these kits. I hate to open this sealed extra X-1 kit just for the 2 pieces Im missing but when I do decide to re-start the paint work I may. I still need to assemble the fuselage and put the wings on. I finished and painted the cockpit with the cool Chuck Yeager figure. Wish I could find one that is missing some other parts if at a good price. Even some left over strut scraps would fit the BILL on this BELL... If anyone on ebay is selling a dumped unfinished crappy Bell with other stuff missing. Who knows.

Not really interested in the Racer, but as time goes by and I get better with aircraft I may open it as well and build it. It is also sealed. Just the top looks a bit dirty for being over 37 years old.

I read Chuck Yeager's autobiography recently, he is a super interesting guy and what achievements. Still going strong at 94. I would love a brand new tool 1/32 X-1.

While I was stationed out at Beale AFB I used to see him several times a month as he lives closely out the back gate in Penn Valley. He would always take time to talk with anyone who asked about his service time. Always had had time for us mere enlisted folks, all around great guy.

Im not even finished with my Revel X-1 even tho I got the edge decals now and finding the EDUARD 1:48 X-1 Mach Buster has me very interested! I mean a bit smaller but the Profipak makes me crazy!!! All good stuff in that kit!! The Tamiya one looks cool too, but a bit tiny for 72nd, but who knows, It may look awesome and may be a great build. Yea so true about Chuck, what an amazing pilot! Wow. I love the guys that made history so interesting.

Getting back into modelling again, had to stop a couple years ago because I installed an air conditioner in my window which meant I couldn't airbrush without a spray booth which I never got around to buying, building one now, almost done but waiting on the filter material atm. Still got a few unfinished models but wanted to get some new stuff and try some different things like rust, chipping and flocking.

Going to decant the Aqua clear, Chrome and Black Base into the dropper bottles just to make it easier. I also bought the embroidery scissors because I stuffed my Tamiya ones (cut some thin cardboard which bent the blades :x ), got 2 lots of each scissors for the price of 1 Tamiya pair.

The Black Widow model is much easier then I expected so that'll be my first car build, the '32 Ford I'm planning on making into a rat rod hence the rust effects, not sure how well that will go :.

Wow, you are loaded for the proverbial bear with all that stuff :thumb2:
Watch out as some plastic dropper bottles allow evaporation through their walls especially of the volatiles
There was along thread about it a year or so ago, will try to find

Haha that's just the new stuff, I have a lot more from a couple years ago to and I plan on buying more soonish.

Thanks I'll have to watch out for that, might test one of the bottles before I swap the paint, got some Isopropyl somewhere.

Wow nice car kits. Love the 32 Ford. Both are nice really. Ive got a few as well. Almost finishing this one as we speak. (hehe, Lee got me into completing my Lamborghini after seeing his video about the monster he's making from Pocher.. 1/8th thooo lol WOW!!

Image

Just got to do some body work painting (assuming I can remember how to use my airbrush.. again, but paused like you were saying) but I also have a few older cars too. A 66 olds cutlas, a 1970 Monte Carlo, a Gothum City police car, back to the future Time machine, 1955 lincoln and some Batmobiles. All fun kits, but the older Hot rod's look great and some I sued to build from back-in-day but those never had the painting we can do now or..one that I hope to do now..lol.

Yea Lamborghini's are awesome. Lee's Pocher 1/8 Lamborghini Aventador is amazing as well, but anyone that loves these cars (at least me anyways) just loose our minds with any kind of Lamborghini kit. Would love to try a Tamayi one. I bet it falls together so easy and has tones of detail. Need to improve my painting skills tho long before I attempt that kind of quality.

God I love all these topics... cars, planes, space craft, scifi, boats, WWII stuff, etc. As a matter of fact Batman was one of my favs of all time for cars. Got most all the of the 80's 90's 1/25th's and waiting for THE classic of all Batmobiles, the 1966 George Barris' Batmobile that I always liked more than most. I see that Polar lights makes a really nice one that im gonna try and get. I even bought a couple 1955 Lincoln Futura's that George used to create Batman's car in 1966.

Heres the Futura!

Image

I wanted to try and too modify this Lincoln, to make the bat version, but it does look like a bit of sculpting work. I think Polar has a real nice version now that may be a bit easier to build. So many kits... so many dreams, lol

No models , some stuff that I bought yesterday and delivered today ...

Blue Tack , first time that I can buy this here , Blue stuff , it is something that I wish to try for some time and see if I can do some simple stuff at home , Jerrycans , Small stuff like some stowage and so , a 'stamp' to do some leaves for my dioramas in 1/35 , some silicone rings to use with next photo stuff :-)

Image

These rools are to do some paved roads and trails , using putty or Das , will try this adviced by a friend modeller that had some good results , also two components putty to do the small stuff using the Blue Stuff from above , metal balls for mixing my figure paints

Image

and last a set of small files , useful for modelling plastic or white metal , always useful to have at hand , this is a small set very nice

Image

:cheers2:

Yeah the car models look pretty good, the Black Widow one is pretty easy so I'll be starting that one maybe in a couple weeks, still need to get some flocking powder for it. I like cars more than tanks, planes etc because you can go nuts customizing them.

Got some more stuff today, filter material for my DIY "spray booth", 1x1m square for $9.50 AUD each, bought 2 of them, got them off eBay.

Spray booth is just a $27 bathroom extractor fan, sheet of corflute, hot glue, fabric tape and double sided tape :thumb2:. I still have a bit of fine tuning to do but it should work pretty well.

Yet another post from me (I really should of done it in one big post ).

Acrylic display case this time. It's not super big L: 58cm, D: 33cm, H: 40cm, shelves are 13cm. It is deeper than I would of liked but for $127 AUD delivered I cant complain.

Image

I'll be making some bases for the models eventually.

This ones er... in for repairs? yeah...

You can get it at Staples/Office Depot.
Oh thanks for the tip, maybe the wife can give me a ride over there and Ill stock up on a few of them. Holding a few parts down (as Ive seen on a few youtubes) looks like a great idea.

Really weird how all of this followed me home
There are some real classics among them like the RSO and Bell H-13 but a couple of them where real bargains
Amd even the big missle with the truck and trailer was really cheap
But the best are the 2 Meng kits
The D9R i made a couple of years ago is still one of my favorite kits to build and the T-72B3 comes with a quite wild 3 tone scheme made up from red brown, black and white so that will be the version i want to build and i plan on starting it soon

But for now i just need to start building instead of buying
Allthough i doubt i am the only one around here with that problem

Thanks
The HQ-2 was dirt cheap and it comes with the truck so that was the main reason for getting it

the dozer is really nice allthough that is my opinion based on the older version of the kit
The tram is just a really nice piece for a diorama
But i still need to take a look at most of the new kits
Maybe some reviews will appear who knows
