I'm late to start this GB; but, I think I'll be able to finish. I'm going to be building the 1/35 Tamiya Tiger I Early Production. I'm going with the Ost front version and sporting a beautiful winter camo. This is the third tracked vehicle I will have attempted and I'm excited to get started. As for aftermarket; I did purchase an Aber metal barrel and Tamiya PE grills for the model.
I'm listening to Tigers in the Mud: The Combat Career of German Panzer Commander by Otto Carius. It's an excellent audio book about eastern front Tigers and how they were employed. While it's not a tactical book it does give you a very good idea of how positional warfare worked on the ost front.
I haven't decided if I'm going to go with MIchael Wittman's S04 yet or not. I'm leaning towards it; however, I don't know how to tackle the barrel stripes.

I have gotten some work done on this model, I was just late on getting the thread up. Here's how the progress is going so far. pretty steady. Hopefully I can get to priming and paint next week.

Emily is my gf and likes when I send her update pics of my builds. Then she usually draws a picture of the subject and I get to display them together. Yes, I'm already planning to put a ring on it.
Top gets put on

PE grills on; had to cut them a bit because I put on the hinges before applying grills. Also, I screwed up where the hand holds on the engine deck go. I may try to scratch build those.

Barrel and turret on.

Smoke launchers assembled; these were a pain to get together.

Smoke launcher applied to turret; notice how the launcher is canted incorrectly. I didn't catch it till much later. I think I'm going to try my hand at light battle damage.

Muzzlebreak applied and the tiny bit of PE was placed in there with the help of the wonderful Ultimate placer pencil.

Mostly together; need side skirts and tools.

More to come later!
