Thanks you two.

I'd like to do more detail in the chipping but it simply doesn't exist in the game.
So I had to stop where it was and move to the filter stage.
Building this thing is certainly a challenge.
It's not just building something from a photo or photos, I've done that many times and yeah.. that's hard.
This is more than that.
I have to change the construction of the piece to match the appearance in-game.
The in-game vehicle's detail is soft, and so the paint detail has to be soft.
It's harder than I had expected to do that.
I want to do the whole treatment. Mud... Give Me Mud!!

Going great buddy :th:

Just to clarify something about the decal of your logo - you just printed it on normal paper and stuck it on with Microscale decal restorer ?

I've been making templates and masks for mine to try and spray the logo on the tank and tested on a painted bit of card, but they've been so horrific I haven't even bothered posting pics of them lol
There can be only one!
Unless your building two, or three, or four - ah to hell with it.

Yup that's exactly what I did.
The restorer isn't thick enough to hide the thick edges of the paper though. It just coats an protects beautifully.
So to try and get rid of the edges I will use a few local coats of future. That should level it all out. Then I'll seal the future with a gloss coat of the Model Master Acryl. Only because my oils seem to hate Future. So that step may not be needed for other folks.

Cool, been trying that out and found out that my printer won't print solid black without without greyish lines in it, even with a new cartridge and numerous aligns and head cleaning cycles done - scuppered again lol
Might just print in really dark grey and see if it darkens with a filter over it.

That's a real pain.
Can you hand paint the black? I don't know what your logo looks like.

A guitar pick... Cool.
That wouldn't be too hard to free hand if you had the pick shape mask made up. Put the yellow down first then detail with the black once it's very dry.
It's not going to be very big so magnification and a good brush might be a good idea.

Two months is a long time Ken.
I'm sure it will work out. You can do it with any small enough brush and a steady hand though.
You should practice on a piece of paper first though, just to get a feel for it.

I also fixed that shot deflector/step that was missing from mine.
Thanks McLeod haha. :th:

There's really nothing to take pictures of at this point so he's a video of me trying not screw it up to badly.

I can't believe I've missed so much of this thread - turn my back for a couple of moments to watch the vids of your huge Tiger and bingo, the T34 is all built and painted!!

Hate to say it though, you do seem to be slipping as this one is just - TOTALLY AWESOME!! :D :th: :th:

Bought a T34 last weekend, so I'm making copious amounts of notes (must check on McLeods as well).

McLeod's is going to be pretty good too.
With out his build I would have missed a bunch of things. haha.
The man is keeping me honest. :th:

I'm finding that building the same vehicle with someone is a really cool experience.
I've got to try more of these.
Hence my Big Tiger Build with Hamilkar. It's a hell of a lot of fun.
I'm hoping that I'll finish my T34 this weekend actually.
The Cold War GB is starting on Saturday so I need to clear some work space before I start my Sabre Jet.
That means more T34 vids coming.

Yeah my plan over the weekend is to get the base colour on the hull/turret and the first cammo colour, and then get the wheels, tracks tow cables etc all painted up.
Not been doing much this week as I've been playing WoT after the patch came out lol

Ok... so I'm almost ready to call her done.
She needs a flat coat then a touch of pastels and that's it.
Normally I'd do a whole lot more but the game graphics don't show it.

I've also decided on a vignette base as well. Just something simple but typical to many in game situations that I've experienced.

Here's a few pictures as a sneak peak while I process and upload the vids to Youtube.

Beautiful, beautiful piece Coen sir....: :   : :
Damn, why are all you guys so good at this modeling lark?
Really need to get some build hours in and stop just watching everyone else's builds...
Ain't gonna get good if I don't practice, practice, practice.....
Do you think its because I'm cack-handed?
Well done again my friend you have transformed a piece of plastic into a thing of beauty...
..... Once again.. :wtf:
Nice little vignette too dude, very cold and barren like in the game.. :thumb1:
Excellent....

I've still got work to do on her. I finished all my work for the day about an hour ago so I came inside and gave her a coat of flat clear. I let that dry then I added a tiny bit of soot to the exhaust and the muzzle of the barrel.
I still have to build the vingette. All it has at the moment is the air-dry clay, a tree, and a couple of rocks stuck in it.
I have to add the earth colours, then some grass, then the snow on top of that.
So much for finishing it this weekend.
haha.
