"Asgrim the dwarf" 180mm bust Scibor

Post by fly1ngdutchm4n »

Hello everybody!
I'm working on a very big bust (approx 180 mm) from a polish company Scibor monstrous miniatures.
They are specialized in war and tabletop gaming, and they have some great bust too :th:
This bust is called "Asgrim" and he is a dwarf warlord .
I am working on him for a while now, and that is been shared on Facebook, but I wanted to share it here as well.

It's a great sculpt out of a single piece of very heavy resin, and there is hardly any cleaning up to do.
The base is the only separate piece.

It took me a while to get this beast primed, it is a real paint consumer! :th:
Now I'm almost out of primer...

Base colored the skin. I'm using scale75 paints for this bust.
The flesh tone is from a set that is called "dead flesh".

Image

First shade applied by airbrushing the bust from below.
Eyes painted with a mix of light flesh and of white.

And finished the rest of the eyes...

Painted his beard and mow hawk red brown as a base color for the ginger look.
Yes, he is going to be ginger.. for I think gingers are awesome! ( hi Lee... )

Image

First highlight by applying hell orange with a drop of brown.

Image

Second highlight applied by adding hell orange with a drop of light flesh

Painted a tattoo on his head, and the second shades are applied.
Last highlights are applied to the beard .
I already started highlighting his face too.

And this is how far this journey will take us today..
Next time I will finish the highlight in his face, and start painting the ornaments in his beard.

Hope you like it so far, and if there are any questions, please ask!
