It's been a long time since I last built an airliner, so it would be fun to do one.
Plus that there are almost no airliner builders here on ISM, why not fill up the gaps a bit.
My airliner build will be the D.H.106 Comet 4B -a british jet airliner from the sixties.
History
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/De_Havilland_Comet
The Comet was the worlds first operational jet airliner and started service in the early fifties as the Comet 1. But due to many crashes caused of structural design flaws, the Comet was nearly withdrawn out of service completely. But in the sixties a new design of the Comet came out,
the Comet 4. It was safer to fly and was larger then the Comet 1. The Comet 4 remained in civil service until the eighties.
I went for the "new tool" Amodel Comet 4B as I thought it would be OK.
I'll be building a Comet 4B as flown by British European Airways (BEA)
The kit was quite bad, with fit issues, sinkmarks, badly moulded panel lines and flash of course.
The decals where good though and the kit even came with finely moulded resin exhaust nozzles.

Bad sink mark.

Here is my current progress on the build:
Front landing gear bay built. Not much detail here to show you.

Fuselage and wings built. Lot's of filling and sanding to come.

That's it for now, more to come.
