I know they stand for Special Interest Group (a special, specific topic) and Group Build...is a GB a SIG but a wider subject?
I've looked at the ones through 2015 (the reveal shows) and they look smashing - so I was wanting to tackle one or two next year - but what is involved?
So first off, can you explain properly to me what a SIG is and what a GB is (and the difference between the two if it's not obvious?) and secondly what I would be required to do to take part and the process?
Thank you
What are SIGs and GBs?

Re: What are SIGs and GBs?
Basicly a Sig and a GB are the same
The only difference is that a SIG is based on a limited subject
Whior a GB is a bigger subject
As a example you can have a car GB But if you would limited that to let's say Rally cars it would be a SIG
Because only Rally cars would be the right subject to enter if that is the subject
As for taking part
You only need a new/unstarted kit (within the SIG/GB subject)
Usually after market parts or decals are allowed
Bases and diorama's are udually allowed
But each Sig or GB has it's own set of rules wich explain what can be done and what not
You can find them in each GB thread under the guidelines and chat section
Just above the builds and reveals sections
I hope this helps
Cheers

That helps a lot - thank you.
What about posting? Are there any rules on posting about your model or is it just as much info and as many pics and details of your methods as possible?

Sorry - I was looking in this thread for SIGs and GBs - not realising there were separate threads.
I found this

Re: What are SIGs and GBs?
Yeah that thread about soms it up
The updates are aort of needed yes
No point in starting the thread and then post a final reveal with nothing in between
Besides that if you keep a good build thread and you do happen to run into a problem there is a bigger chamce that others can help you out as they can see at what point you are and what is causing it (if you post a photo about the problem)
