This will be my first post on this forum.
Some years ago I got a bust and that was my first time ever I painted a large scale figure and because I liked it so I did more bust although I'm a very slow worker and I also like to build sometimes a plastic model
At the moment I'm busy with a bust from Nuts Planet. I had never heard from this brand before, but the make great busts. The quality is good, sharp details and a lot of parts.

This is de boxart, inside you find this.

After cleaning up, not much to do, I gave all parts a black primer coat.

I left this to dry for a night before I started with the head. The head is for me the most important part of a bust, I can make or break your work. First start is painting the eyes.

The basecoat for the eyes is Pale Sand from Vallejo Model Color (VMC). Then I started with black Negro/Black from Game Color (GC) to paint the eye. When the paint had dried, I paint the iris, this time with some blue and then the pupil with Glossy Black (VMC). Finally I make the part of the iris that in the lights a bit lighter and also put a catch light in the pupil with Dead White (GC).
When I'm happy with the eyes, I go further with the base coat for the flesh parts. After a basecoat with a mix from different colors from the Jo Sonja range, I define the deepest shadows and highlights.

This looks a bit hard and rough. After a period of dry time, I started bring the highlights and shadows together with thin layers of different colors.

The last one is the final result.
When the face was ready I started with the other parts.
Here are some pictures from the work I have done last weeks. I use colors from VMC, Life Color (LC), Jo Sonja (JS) and Andrea Colors (AC). For the harnasch ( I hope I use the right word
I used Deck Tan (VMC) as base color and mixt a Brown (LC) for the shadows and Sand (LC) and Light Sand (VMC) for the highlights.

The leather parts are base coated with Flat Brown, Chocolate Brown and Leather Belt all from VMC. The gun holder is painted first in German Tanker from the Panzer Aces range from Vallejo. (PAV).
After painting all the details I gave the coat a base color with a mix of Splinter Strips (PAV), the Field Grey base color (AC - Field Grey Paint set) and some drops of Pastel Green (VMC).

For the shadows I used Hookers Green and Raw Umber (both JS) and some black for the deepest shadows. Highlights are done with Field Grey I and II (LC) and some more refinement is done with Sand (LC) Light and Dark Mud (PAV).
The last pictures are from yesterday. I still have to do the weapon and other little parts.

Hope you like it and any question is welcome,
Grtz Johanna
