"Free your mind GB" idea. -Anyone interested?

Post by planemaker »

Greetings fellow modellers! I have got an idea for a really fun Group Build. Let me explain:

"Free your mind GB" would be a Group build where anyone can participate.
The GB rules would be:

You must build something fictional where you self have to use your imagination to dream up and build something totally awesome.
Any particular kit is NOT allowed. Instead you do a kit bash or scratch build the hole thing or both or just use scrap and leftover parts.
It must NOT be a subject that existed on paper, in a movie or in reality. -Just let your fantasy flow freely and build something never before seen!
You can build whatever you dream up, like a figure, sci-fi, steampunk, fictional vehicle or aircraft and anything else that your mind comes up with.
BUT I would probaly not allow someone to build for examle a "Double Spitfire", although it didn't even exist on paper it's still just two Spitfires.
Plus you could add a name or type to your creation. -Just for fun.
If you think this idea sounds fun, then please leave a comment behind. :cheers2:

It would be great to see what you guys can come up with and build. :D I think it will be the funniest GB ever!

All the best, Sebastian.

Great idea! I like the sound of this. Don't know if I'd have time for it though. When were you thinking of starting, and how long will it last?

Thanks for your feedback! :th:

I haven't planned a time for it yet, but it would probably be fun for next year or in the near future.

I think three to four months of time would probably be good for a GB like this, we'll see.

I think you misunderstood the concept a bit. It was my bad explaining. I'll try to make it clearer:

-You all know after you built a kit you are left with some parts and decals that where not used. Well, if you are like me and collect these parts you end up with a lot of them, and I mean a lot. The problem is what do you do with them? -I find my decal and part collection handy quite often, but some parts never get used.
Why not do a whole Group Build to take some of your leftover parts, smack them together and see what it turns into!
Well, who knows how it'll look like.

Hope that cleared things up a bit. :cheers2:

I'm new to ISM and getting back into the hobby but I think the idea sounds great and I would be very interested in participating. Thanks for the great idea.
