Pauls 1/48 Airfix PR.XIX Spitfire

Post by Paul »

Love the look of these blue aircraft, and as its a fairly new tool it should build up well.

Ive added some aftermarket to it, wheels exhaust and a great cockpit set.

Other than that it'll be built out the box in the two tone blue colours, i have the xtracrylix pru blue for it too :cheers2:

Started of with the cockpit adding some of the aftermarket resin parts

First step to the cockpit

And after a while i got this lot built, much better improvement over the kit parts, even through the foot pedals fell to bits and i had to glue them (badly) to repair them. I drilled out the lightning holes too, need to dig out my spitfire references tomorrow

A bit of a big jump in the build as I've been plugging away at it.

Progress on the PR Spitfire, masked and airbrushed in the medium sea grey, sadly i cant continue till i get some white and black Xtracrylix point to darken and lighten for pre shading and panel fading, a note to everyone xtracrylix don't like to be mixed with other paints lol
Hoping to get back to it in a few days when paint arrives.

As usual Akan and xtracrylix spray perfectly with Ultimate thinner

Bit of a jump in this build as to its all now finished.

Ive faded the paintwork with paint effects, fading bleaching and post shading and then i gave it a Ultimate wash and oil dot faded the paintwork as i would with armour.

The reveal can be found here :cheers2: http://www.intscalemodeller.com/viewtop ... 05&t=13746
