I put a rather lengthy video on my channel about Dragon and Tamiya Tiger I kits.

Re: Tiger tank variants and kits
That where a intresting 30 minutes
I would have to agree with the general statement you make about prices and possibilities a kit offers
But i do want to say that the dragon late with zimmerit has the parts for a command version with the exception of a few things
The antenna's are missing ofcourse but a set of after markets looks better then the ones dragon offers in some kits
The mounts for these antenna's are in the kit and both hull and turret roof have the locating holes for these mounts
And the rear plate has to be converted but again the parts are in the kit
It will take some cutting and chopping but it can be done as i did for the Tiger sig with that same kit
But i did find this video intresting to as i still want a few more Tigers to add to my collection so i want to thank you for making and sharing this
Cheers
Mark

Re: Tiger tank variants and kits
Thanks Mike. Having your approval on this is important. I left out some stuff just because of the nature of talking for 30 minutes straight. Byrden already commented on what I did wrong on the video...Coen wrote:This is AWESOME!!!!!!! Well done Adam!
Very glad you sat through it Mark. I know there's a lot of stuff like that, where parts are in the kits to make things that aren't mentioned in the instructions but I simply didn't remember when I was filming.MarkVerploeg wrote:That where a intresting 30 minutes

Re: Tiger tank variants and kits
Well i did find you vid intresting to watch as you almost never see a comparisson between so many kits of one subject
But i didn't find the conversion all that difficult and i rarely change anything on a build unless i need to remove something for a pe part
The thoughest bit was the rearplate where the jack has to be moved and the 2 brackets for the antenna tube have to be installed wich i cut from the rearplate for the command version that is in the kit
But it does show what you say about part being used in multiple kits and i did notice that while i was building my 5 tigers recently

Re: Tiger tank variants and kits
I saw the thread where you converted the kit, and it look pretty easy. I've thought about doing that myself as I plan to build 007 out of the kits I have. So I may very well do what you did. Which looked brilliant by the way, if I didn't already say so in your thread.MarkVerploeg wrote:Well i did find you vid intresting to watch as you almost never see a comparisson between so many kits of one subject

Re: Tiger tank variants and kits
Excellent video, well made and narrated and very solid info. Many thanks!
Would love to see you add the Academy Tigers (and maybe Italeri) and if possible, add a "Cliff notes" at the end - a small table of the Dragon kit numbers and what they mean.
Maybe an idea for a second video?
I have plenty of Tigers in the stash (Tamiya mainly), but no Dragons believe it or not....plenty of Dragon Panthers and other panzers.

Re: Tiger tank variants and kits
I thought about the cliff notes thing. I only had the one Academy Tiger (which wasn't a great experience) and no AFV Club or Italeri. Perhaps in the future though.cib2265 wrote:Excellent video, well made and narrated and very solid info. Many thanks!

Yeah Seb, 6253 is amazing, I just wanted people to know they could have most of that for cheaper. But yeah, I bought one...so. Thanks for subbing, I've been one of yours for a long time. Always happy to watch your reviews.Schoof wrote:Great vid !
